It started with the IBM Series/1 minicomputer

For its first 10 years, CIE's  specialty was the development of real-time industrial applications.  The IBM Series/1 minicomputer was a popular choice for many large companies for their industrial computer applications.  Many barcode and conveyor control applications were implemented with this minicomputer

 Hummingbird OS

This CIE-developed product allows Series/1 applications to run on PC platforms.  It became a very popular way to move applications from the extend the life of application software when IBM discontinued the Series/1 minicomputer.

 Document Imaging

CIE established its reputation as a first-class imaging provider by implementing and customizing several high-end imaging products to meet specific application requirements.

With each implementation, CIE developed tools and interfaces with enhanced capabilities, designed to extend the imaging solution.  These tools are now available within the CIE Capture, CIE Index and CIE Viewer products.

CIE has also used its imaging and accounting system skills to bridge the two environments.  The ImageLink product gives accountants the tools to tie source documents with accounting records.

 Network Applications

Communications and connectivity.  That's what CIE brings to network integration.  Getting applications to talk together is the challenge, making it happen is what CIE does.

 Today, it's the Web

Enabling web-based applications for internal business needs.  A growing trend is to use the internet as a platform to extend the applications and data within an enterprise.  CIE has engineered web interfaces into its new products and continues to work with its customers to help extend their internal applications
