1.  How are Dynamics SL batches created?

An application program provided with AP-Distar is used to  create  Dynamics SL AP batches.

bulletThe batch can contain any number of AP documents, based on the user-selected "Maximum Batch Size".  For example, if 30 documents are available for Dynamics SL (have been approved) and the maximum batch size is 20, then two batches will be created: one with 20 documents and the other with the remaining 10 documents.  This feature is designed to prevent very large batches (which can be difficult to work with) from being created within Dynamics SL.
bulletWhen created, the batches are placed on hold.  This allows them to be reviewed prior activating the posting process. 
bulletAP-Distar does not use Dynamics SL "Transaction Import" to build the batches.  Instead, the appropriate APDoc and APTran records are built using Dynamics SL VBTools.  This allows AP-Distar to "know" the Dynamics SL reference number and insert it back into the tables unique to AP-Distar.

2.  Is is possible to send out-of-balance batches to Dynamics SL?

No.  AP-Distar tracks batch balances throughout the system.  Also, at the point of import into Dynamics SL, one last check is made to insure that no batch out of balance is created within the Dynamics SL database tables.

3.  What are the Dynamics SL user count requirements for AP-Distar?

The only program that relies on the Dynamics SL environment is the program that builds the AP batches.  As such, the user must be logged onto Dynamics SL when this process takes place.  The image capture, data entry and Web access aspects of AP-Distar are outside the control of Dynamics SL and have no Dynamics SL user count requirements.

Only the AP batch build program was developed using Dynamics SL VBTools.
